FC Sonic Win Conference TitlePosted On July - 12 - 2010 FC SONIC Lehigh Valley came into Friday’s game with the Erie Admirals at Lehigh’s Ulrich Sports Complex needing a win. Both teams had nine wins in the National Premier Soccer League Keystone Conference. Lehigh Valley’s record was 9-1-1, while the Admirals were 9-1-0, with their loss to the Sonic. The first half was played evenly, as both teams had chances. FC SONIC started the match controlling the rhythm of play and possession. However, the Admirals gained momentum in the middle third of the half.

A goal by Jordie Ciuffetelli in the 88th minute against the Erie Admiral’s made all the difference for FC Sonic Lehigh Valley (10-1-1) as they captured the National Premier Soccer League Keystone Conference title and advanced to the Northeast Region playoffs with a 1-0 victory over Erie Admirals (9-1-2) this past weekend.

The game was a must win for FC Sonic who clinched a spot in the playoffs against the winner from the Northeast Region’s Atlantic Conference, soon to be determined, either the New York Red Bulls or the Brooklyn Italians.

FC Sonic Lehigh Valley (9-1-1) traveled to South Brunswick, NJ on Tuesday evening for an NPSL clash with the NJ Blaze. The Sonic needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive and, to the delight of the faithful Sonic fans that made the trip south to watch their team, the Sonic scored a gutsy 3-0 victory.

On Saturday, June 19, FC Sonic Lehigh Valley took on the the FC Buffalo Blitzers in a NPSL rematch after last weekend’s 1-0 Sonic victory. The 3pm matinee started with both teams having a couple of early chances, the best coming in just the 5th minute when Sonic midfielder Carlington Lamont missed a golden opportunity off a beautiful Cody Antonini cross.

The FC LEHIGH U-12 Boys & Girls teams are heading down to West Chester this Saturday to participate in the 2010 USYS/EPYSA National Championship State Cup Finals. Both games will kickoff at 12pm at the West Chester SC Complex. The boys will play FC Revolution (Reading,PA) in the title game & the girls will take on Super Nova (Hershey/Harrisburg, PA).

FC Lehigh is joining with Cops ‘n’ Kids, a local non-profit organization affiliated with The Cops ‘n’ Kids Children’s Literacy Program, a national initiative founded by Julia Burney Witherspoon, a police officer from Racine, Wisconsin. Our goal is to collect as many books as we possibly can for this wonderful program.

We are asking each player to dust off those bookshelves and donate, donate, donate. Managers will be collecting books starting this weekend. We will run our clubwide collection though May 15.
